Interested in art and craft his whole life, Andy began learning blacksmithing in the early 1970s. After working in blackiron for several years, he began integrating other metals into his work. This gave him more control of the colors and textures needed for the variety of sculpture that he was experimenting with. For the last thirty years, Andy has worked exclusively with non-ferrous metals such as copper and brass.
Over a decade ago, Andy was joined by two master craftsmen, Ken Edgar and Mark Shrum. They are still with the studio, sharing the creative process and contributing their own strengths and interests.
In his free time, Andy's hobbies include landscape gardening and flying his antique airplane.
